The history of Orefici dates back to 1933 in the city of Milan, where the founder designed and handcrafted beautiful intricate pieces of jewelry. Now days, Orefici specializes in watches with a total of 7 different collections under their belt. With this quickly growing Miami based company, and all the sports celebrities rocking an Orefici on their wrist, I only thought it was fair to get an Orefici watch in hand to see what all the hype is about. Up for review from the collection is the Vintage 42mm chronograph. Orefici’s vintage line represents the classic models that resemble and represent the style of watches from the 1950’s. Let take a closer look and see what the Vintage line is all about.
The packaging your Orefici watch will arrive in is of the standard watch boxes most are used to. Protected by an exterior cardboard sleeve, the box is well protected during transport. A dark walnut in color, the watch box is double hinged, with a felt bottom. Once opened, your watch is displayed nicely on a center cushion with warranty and instruction manual located beneath. Overall, the presentation by Orefici is nice.
In hand, the first thing you’ll realize about the Vintage 42mm is its very light weight. Weighing in at a total of 73 grams, this watch is very comfortable on wrist, if you can even remember you’re wearing it. You have the option of selecting between 3 case colors with the Vintage 42mm: Rose gold, Yellow gold, or Stainless steel. This particular model for review is the stainless steel.
The case is constructed from 316L stainless steel, and has an overall case measurement of, you guessed it, 42mm. The lower half of the case is brushed steel, with the upper half high polished. This gives the case just the right amount of contrast to really make it appealing. The LTL measures in at 46mm, so if your wrist is any larger than 7.5”, this case size may look too small on your wrist. Completing the case are rounded chrono pushers, and a nice coined crown sporting the Orefici logo. The Vintage 42mm chronograph has a water resistance of 100 meters.
