Cartier Pasha 42mm Skeleton Watch with Panther Décor
Cartier has once again proven that it is at the top of its game. Cartier has lived up to its reputation as the ‘King of Jewelers’ with the Pasha 42mm Skeleton with Panther Décor. This collection is in a category of its own, as there simply nothing in contemporary horology to compare it with. The Pasha watch owes its name to the King of Marrakech who is also known as the Pasha. The word Pasha roughly translates to King. The Cartier Pasha was made originally at this King’s request, as he wanted a watch that he could swim with, hence the iconic screw-on cap around the main crown.
This fine timepiece is crafted from 18kt white gold. Cartier’s formula for their white gold is a secret as this alloy retains its luster and does not need to be rhodium plated every six months. As the name suggests, this Pasha watch is 42mm in diameter (excluding the main crown). This model sits relatively flat on the wrist with a case height of just 9.4mm. The iconic screw-on cap features a faceted inverted diamond set into it, revealing only the pavilion and the culet. The main crown is ridged for ease in winding this watch and for setting the time. The bezel is set with large full cut round brilliant diamonds individually placed by Cartier’s master jewelers.
Not to be left out, the skeletonized dial features an open worked panther décor encrusted with diamonds over the movement. Two Tsavorite garnet stones serve as the radiant green eyes of the panther; while a trillion cut onyx is used for the nose. The hours and minutes are displayed by two diamond shaped black steel hands which contrast wonderfully against the brilliance and scintillation of the skeletonized dial diamond dial.
The Pasha 42mm Skeleton Watch with Panther Décor is powered by a manually wound Swiss made movement Calibre 9613MC. This movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal transparent case back. This lady’s watch from Cartier is secured with a black “Toile Brossee” strap with an adjustable deployant buckle in 18kt white gold, which is also set with round diamonds. This model is water resistant to 30 meters (3 bars).
